Breaking News - A business premises in Strabane, Co. Tyrone has been hit by lightning this afternoon sparking a major fire at the premises.

The Fire is believed to have broken out near the Fire station on the railway road with a large plume of smoke seen for miles around.

The local fire service where at the seen with in minutes and there is no information yet if anyone has been hurt.

Fire crews are currently dealing with a large fire in the Railway Street area of Strabane this evening. Up to 8 appliances are trying to bring the blaze under control. Members of the Donegal Fire service where also called in for help

It is believed that a lightning strike was a cause of the fire with a large explosion heard followed by flames.

The fire broke out just after 4pm with as a passing thunderstorm moved over Strabane with torrential rainfall and radar, The radar image can be seen below from the time period
