A Yellow weather warning for rainfall is in place for the southwest, west and north of Ireland today with the risk of Flooding .

Heavy rain throughout the day could lead to spot flooding. If you're driving, remember that heavy rain can affect both visibility and road conditions, so take extra caution. Slow down and leave extra room to brake.

There is serious floods on the creeslough to termon road this morning , the worst is just coming into termon cars are stuck in the water.





Serious flooding at various locations in #Sligo. Lane restrictions on N15 from Ballycastle Cliffoney, north to Creevykeel & Bunduff. Road blocked @ Newtown, Grange past Sports Hall. Mountain road at Keelogues. Ballintrillick and the Gleniff Horseshoe have three small land slides, Ballintrillick blocked to traffic also. One large landslide with burst banks flooding down to the Old Mill from the Dartrys. The Grange river has burst its banks. Please avoid these ares if possible and drive carefully

There are reports of a lot of surface flooding and the back road to Ballintra to Rossnowlagh to Ballyshannon travel with care on the route.




The Finn Harps vs Saint Patrick's Athletic game in Finn Park, Ballybofey, Donegal has been called of due to a waterlogged pitch.

Mayo County Council

We have issued a Level 3 alert for flooding for#Crossmolina due to heavy rainfall and high water levels in the River Deel and a Level 2 alert has been issued for the rest of County #Mayo.

The alerts are in place from Friday August 30th to Saturday, August 31.

We urge the public to remain vigilant during the duration of the alert and it is important that people within the affected areas are prepared appropriately for the anticipated rainfall totals with 30 – 50 mm expected.

There is a possibility that alert can be extended or deteriorated conditions last longer than anticipated. Once the alert has passed, please remain vigilant and exercise caution as the effects of the weather can last longer.
