SHOCKING 8 HOUR WAIT FOR GOVERNMENT TO TASK ARMY HELICOPTERS AND TROOPS TO WEST DONEGAL GORSE FIRES
The Air corps have finally arrived to west Donegal this afternoon and are helping to fight the raging gorse fires in the county after a 8 hours wait.
36 troops from Finner camp base in the south of Donegal have also be deployed to the area.
The request went in at 9am this morning as a urgent plea for help was made to the Defence forces and Minister Mc Hugh and finally just before 5pm this afternoon the Air Corps where send to West Donegal and arrived around 5pm.
Donegal County Council also hired a helicopter earlier today which was trying to cover four different fires.
A massive well done to the fire service, emergency services and locals who have gone beyond the call of duty.
The fire is still burning in the area and out of control with weather conditions in the area not very good due to strong southeast breezes which is helping the fire to spread quicker.
