Parts of the northwest and north look set to see some disruptive snowfall on Saturday morning.

On Friday night and Saturday morning a band of rain associated with area of low pressure of the west of Ireland will feed in across Ireland.

As the band of rain move in across Ireland it will hit colder air across the west, north and east of the country and turn increasingly to snow for many areas away from south/west Connacht & Munster.

The 4 charts on this image above shows the the band of rain turning to snow as it moves across Ireland on Saturday morning turning to snowfall in places.

GREENS - Light/Moderate/Heavy rain

ORANGE - Light/Moderate/Heavy mix of Rain/Snow/Sleet

BLUES - Light/Moderate/Heavy Snow

As you can see that rain moves into the west and northwest on Saturday morning just after midnight it starts to turn to Snow as it moves west to east across Connacht, Ulster and Leinster. The latest ECMWF model run which are the charts attached as well as other models today and the last 3 days show some much the same with parts of the northwest and north in particular possibly seen 5 to 7 hours of moderate snowfall as the band clears.
