High pressure to build later next week to give way to much more settled weather

After all the recent wet and windy weather there is some good news for the early stages of September and that is for high pressure set to build later next week across Ireland which will give much more settled weather across the country especially next weekend. A band of heavy rain is set to pass over Ireland on Wednesday which could be heavy in places for a time during the morning but from Wednesday evening onward the trend is for high pressure to build over the end of next week into the following week

Temperatures this week also look set to recover a little with some areas seen highs of 20C especially across the eastern half of Ireland with temperatures across the western half in the mid to high teens.

SUNDAY 30TH AUGUST 2020

Dry again on Sunday with some bright or sunny spells but more cloud around than Saturday with only a small risk of 1 or 2 isolated showers across Ulster. Temperatures will range between 14C to 16C.

Dry overnight with some clear spells but good amounts of cloud around in places also. Temperatures will range between 4C to 9C.

MONDAY 31ST AUGUST 2020

A mix of sunshine and cloud to start for most areas on Monday morning. Cloud increasing over the afternoon from the west with light rain and drizzle for some Atlantic coastal areas some of that patchy drizzle will reach parts of the midlands over the evening but a lot of areas will also see dry but cloudy weather but staying dry further east. Temperatures will range between 15C to 18C.

Some rain or drizzle in places overnight with drier weather across eastern parts. Mild for the time of year with temperatures will range between 11C to 13C.

TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER 2020

a mix of cloud, bright or sunny spells on Tuesday morning and over the early afternoon across Ireland but a few showers also in places. over the afternoon and evening cloud will eventually increase from the west. Temperatures will range between 17C to 20C.

Rain moving into western places on Tuesday night spreading eastwards across Ireland overnight. Temperatures will range between 13C to 14C.

WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2020

A band of rain will cross Ireland on Wednesday morning and will be heavy in places rain will clear to the east over the afternoon with showers following from the west. Drier weather then will move west to east across Ireland over the later afternoon and evening with some bright or sunny spells.Temperatures will range between 18C to 20C.

Overnight will see showers or drizzle across Connacht and the northwest but it will drier elsewhere with only the small risk of a shower or two.

THURSDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2020

Thursday will be a dry day for many with good bright and sunny spells. There will be some isolated showers in a few places with the west and northwest most at risk. 16C to 20C

FRIDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2020

A lot of dry weather around again on Friday with some bright and sunny spells but a few showers around also the west and northwest most prone especially during the morning and early afternoon. Temperatures will range between 15C to 18C.

OUTLOOK

High pressure looks set to build these weekend and bring a nice settle spell of weather at least until Tuesday or Wednesday next week with good bright or sunny spells at times. Saturday and Sunday will be good dry days for many possible a few isolated showers across northern places on Sunday but overall a improving trend heading into the weekend and next week. Temperatures will range around 16C to 18C over the period.
