WEATHER ADVISORY FOR HEAVY RAINFALL IN PLACE SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING

A Spell of heavy rainfall is expected to move in of the Atlantic on Saturday night and Sunday morning moving from west to east. Rainfall amounts of between 10mm to 20mm is expected across some parts of the country with some areas seen a few mm more with heavier burst of rain in this time period. On Saturday night and Sunday morning the rain will lead to the risk of spot flooding on some roads along with poor driving visibility & road conditions.

As the band of rainfall clears to the east over the morning it will be followed by misty and damp conditions which will lower visibility further again on roads. Please travel with care on Sunday morning and reduce your speed in such conditions. Make sure to leave yourself plenty of time making any long distance journeys.

All area look set to see heavy rain but the highest amounts will be over Ulster and Leinster.

Rainfall will clear the east coast at around midday Sunday with misty conditions following over the afternoon but some drier period may also develop.
